"And he had hope to shake me from the faith,"
Hello! This week was a good week! We met a lot of cool people and was able to get some service opportunities!
We got a Book of Mormon referral this week and we met Samantha. She is really awesome. She read half of the Book of Mormon at her aunt's house and she decided she wanted her own. She is currently looking for a church to go to. She has seen her faith help her throughout her life. We will see her again on Tuesday.
We had a busy Saturday. We met an old man named Buddy. We walked up to him when he has blowing off his drive way, he turned of his lead blower and started to give it to Sister Kulikowski. He saw that we were missionaries and told us that his brother is a member. He said that his wife and him were Church of God. He was about to say something else and he said "you know what go knock in the door Jean will talk to you." We talked to Jean for a bit when Buddy came back in and asked if we saw is baby in the garage. He said to follow and he led us to his Ford model T-32. He was so proud of it. We said a prayer and went to leave when he said "I don't know why I told you to talk to Jean." Hopefully we get to see them again. Buddy seems really cool.
After Buddy we met a guy named Kevin he knew some things about the church and said he wasn't to interested. We said OK then Sister Kulikowski ask him what flowers her had in his flower garden.( I can't remember the flower but they look really cool) He said he wasn't able to keep control of his flower beds and so we offered some service. He said "OK...How much will you charge." When we said nothing he got really excited. So we will go over on Thursday to help him in his flower garden.
After Kevin we started walking down the street and a guy comes from his back yard and asked if we were Jehovah witnesses we corrected him. He then asked us some questions and we asked some in return. After talking to him for awhile he said he was an Atheist and started asking for proof of the Book of Mormon, and why we prayed, and a whole lot of other things. But he never gave us a chance to respond or if we were talking he would interrupt. The questions he was asking seemed to go along with Jacob 7:5 ""And he had hope to shake me [us] from the faith," but we where right there along with him and the end of that verse "wherefore, [we] could not be shaken." We got out of the conversation as soon as we could.
Robbin is doing very good we helped her fold her laundry this week. She asked some questions that she had and we helped her to realize her answers to her pray and she knows the Book of Mormon is true. She is knows she has to do something with her answer and know that it will lead to being baptized. We have another lesson with her tonight!
Payton (I spelled his name wrong last week) is doing good. He is so excited to be baptized! Tasha is doing well to. We will see her again today.
I am thankful that I have come to know the enabling power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that I have been able to do a lot of things that I don't think I could have with out the Atonement. I know that Jesus Christ loves me and knows me and that is why He was willing to die for me and make it able for me to live again. I am grateful to know the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to have seen the blessings from living it.
Love ya! Sister Kemp.
We finished the brain cake we named it Brian.
