[Keep trying. Keep trusting]
Happy Fall Y'all!
Even though I feel like I am crawling out I have survived my first 12 weeks. It is crazy how time flies and seems to stand still all at one time. But I am going to focus more on being in the moment and focus on all the good around me. I would invite y'all to do the same. To spend a couple minutes each day to appreciate what is happening around you. I haven't been doing it long or even much. But when I do it makes my day better.
A lot has happened this week and it has been good.
APRIL got baptized on Saturday. It was so cool she was so excited and so ready to be baptized. She asked her younger brother Cody to do a talk. Cody just got baptized last month and has such a strong and powerful testimony. It was so cool. April was my first baptism. It was such an amazing experience to watch someone I have been teaching step into the waters of baptism.
JASMINE she accepted October 20th to be baptized and she committed to obeying the Word of Wisdom. She is so sweet and excited to be working towards being baptized.
RICKY is doing good. He is all the way to Alma 37 in his reading. He just loves the Book of Mormon and knows that it is true. He is struggling with the Word of Wisdom but we asked him to keep trying to stop and he was a bit hesitant but I gave him a card I made that had a quote from Elder Jeffery R. Holland: Keep trying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep growing. Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow, and forever. He was so touched and said he would try harder.
LaDeena is Ricky's wife. She is always studying and wanting to learn more. We met with her on Thursday. She told us she would be at her uncle's house. We met her there and went inside. We taught her, her uncle SAMUEL and her daughter NEESHA. They all seem very interested in the Book of Mormon and Samuel said he knew it was true when we read with then Ezekiel 37:15-17. It was a really cool lesson.
We got transfer news on Saturday. I am staying in West Memphis and my new companion is Sister Kulikowski. I am excited for the next 6 weeks and what it brings.
I know that as we focus on Jesus Christ and his gospel everyday, we will see our lives improve our days will be happier. When Jesus Christ is the center of our focus we can do more then we thought we could accomplish. I am striving each day to make Him the center of my focus so I can become a new creature of Christ.
Love ya.
Sister Kemp.
