[Small and simple things]
Hello.
This week has been mighty fine. We did a lot and it is always so hard to condense it and to find the words so y'all will able yo actually know what happen but I will give it a shot. Also a heads up for next week I will be at a Mission Social and that will be on Tuesday so my email will be coming in on Tuesday.
Monday we had a appointment with April but her brother was sick and she didn't want us to come over and get sick. So we ended up doing a lesson over Skype. It is so awesome that we have the technology to do that. We asked her to be baptized and she said yes! She will be baptized on the 22nd of September. We have been doing Skype lessons with her throughout the week also. It's beenpretty neat.
On Wednesdays we do a Book of Mormon class at the church for anyone who wants to come. It was so cool this week we had 11 people there. ( 10 actual there and then the Elders skype someone they are teaching in.) Also we went over to Robbins house and the Elders gave Kena (Robbins daughter) a blessing. It was an awesome blessing and the spirit was so strong. It was so cool to be apart of.
Thursday we went finding on one street and parked in front of a house. When we got out of the car a lady walk out of her house and she started to talk with us. She ask what we were doing and we told her and she said her daughter knew some guys (Elder missionaries) that invited her to play volleyball at the church with some others. She was surprised when we said we were the same. She also said she grew up with President Whites (the branch president) daughter. So she knew some things. She was really interested in learning more and wanted a Book of Mormon.
Yesterday (Sunday) we met this really cool guy Cofey who said that the Book of Mormon was on his list. He said that he would be pretty busy to met with us again because he will be studying and taking his board exam. We promised him that if he read the Book of Mormon every night that he would pass the exam. Which I'll admit it is very bold but I know it will happen because Sister Robinson and I both got that thought. I know that the Book of Mormon will help him pass I have no doubt. I know that I can promise blessings that bold and they will be fulfilled. I know that Heavenly Father cares about everything, EVERYTHING. He wants what is best for all of us in all aspects of life.
Today we finished our grocery and Sister Robinson said she wanted a drink so we went to the Sonic in Marion. We ordered and our car hop Shawanna asked if we read our bible everyday. We said yes and she said "Ok. I have a question for y'all. My child died in a car crash when they were 12. Why does God take away children?" We where able to answer that question and more that she had. She wanted to know more and gave us her number so we could come by again. I am so glad that we were able to meet her and hopefully it will led to something more.
I am grateful that we have the gift of the Holy Ghost and that we can get prompted to do small and simple things that seem rather odd but in the end is something big. For example with meeting Shawanna. Before Sister Robinson asked if we should go to the Sonic in West Memphis (where we were at the time. And was closer to us) or to the one in Marion (closer to our apartment) and I felt like we should go to the one in Marion. Which doesn't sound like a prompting from the Holy Ghost at the time but looking back at it if I said West Memphis we wouldn't of met her. I am grateful to know that the heavens are open and that all can receive personal revelation.
A scripture found this week is Alma 37:6
"Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise."
