[That ye may know of a surety]
Hi y'all!
A lot has happen this week. We have been doing a ton of service this week. We are asked to do about 10 hours of service a week and we hit that this week. It's a lot of work. Anywho it was really fun. I love serving people it brings me so much joy.
One opportunity of service this week was helping a recent convert with her reading. It has been really fun to see her improve. Another service opportunity we had was helping a lady in the branch Sister Soto make tamales! I learned how to make really good tamales! It was so fun. We mopped Sister Barnetts floor. I am just so excited to do service and to serve the branch members.
We have been biking everyday for our workout in the morning, and we will go through the neighborhood behind our apartment complex. We always rode past this one girl and on Wednesday we stopped and talked to her. Her name is Zoey and she seems really interested.
We went to Wal-Mart during a dinner break to buy stuff to make a pumpkin pie for Sister Mosley ( I tell you more about her later.) And we got prompted to talk to this mom who was putting her grocery in the car. Her name is Whittley and she is a mother of five she was intrested in learning more about Jesus Christ and invited us over. We went to her house a couple days later and we talked to her about the Book of Mormon she was so happy to recive a Book of Mormon.
It has been really rainy this week it has been weird (90 degrees and pouring down rain). The streets here are pretty bad and flood really easily. I love the rain though. I am so glad that it has been raining.
Now for Sister Mosley is a member in the branch a really cute older lady. She lost her husband a while back and has had a stoke she can't use the right side of her body very well. She is stuck in her house because she can't leave her dad who she is taking care of. She has the best sense of humor. She called us last Monday asking what instrument (device) she needed so she could start a dating profile. She went out the next day and bought a lap top and called us to stop by and help her set up a dating profile. It was pretty awesome. I love her so much.
We taught Robbin this weekend. She is an awesome lady. We taught her with Sister Wilburn. Sister Wilbur described the reason and the need for both the Book of Mormon and the Bible so perfectly. It changed how I feel towards them. She said "if you knew everything in the world and knew everything that was going to happen and you could put into books what you knew so you could help your children know how they could get through it and return to you would you want them to read it? This is what the Bible and Book of Mormon is. Instruction from Heavenly Father. To help us." It was a really spiritual lesson.
A scripture that has been helping me a lot these past couple of weeks has been Mosiah 24:14-15
14 And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions.
15 And now it came to pass that the burdens which were laid upon Alma and his brethren were made light; yea, the Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease, and they did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord.
I know that when we pray that we will get the strength that we need to bare our burdens and that they will become light. I know that Heavenly Father is willing to blesses us if we ask him.
I love ya.
Sister Kemp.
