Lots of Service

Hello! This week was super busy and way fun. We got to do a lot of service this week which is always so good. To kick off our December we were able to go with Madison (a member in the branch who got baptized a year ago from Indiana) to her school and she got to practice doing an eye exam on us. She is really sweet and was so excited to have us come with her. She is in school to become an optometrist. Then we went over to Ricky's and raked up some of his leafs. On Friday we went to Sister Chisms house and helped her decorate for Christmas it was really fun. Last Monday we went finding and we met two people the first was a lady who wasn't interested in taking the lessons but loved the idea for Light the World. She said that she would be doing that this year. The second on we met was a man who wasn't so nice to us and kept saying that we didn't "know" the Book of Mormon was true and said that we have been brainwashed. It was not very fun and Sister Kulikowski and I were drained from that talk. We both decided that we needed ice cream. We went to a place that sells really good shakes but they had just closed for the night so we went to the market place across the street and bought our ice cream and we met Terance he was very interested in coming closer to Christ and wanted to know more about our church. We met Carlos and had an additional lesson with him this week . He is wanting to make changes in his life but doesn't feel like he can do it by himself. We also met Justin who wants to make better choices and start going to church. They both seem really intent on changing. We got a Book of Mormon referral for someone who lives in Hickory Ridge (twoish hours away). We went on Saturday and had a lesson with Jennifer. It turns out that she got baptized when she was nineteen. She was really sweet and is wanting to come back to church. I came across a scripture in Doctrine and Covenant that reminded me of something that was said at the last zone conference I went to the scripture is D&C 105:5 "And Zion cannot be built up unless it is by the principles of the law of the celestial kingdom; otherwise I cannot receive her unto myself." President Faulkner said "We teach Celestial Standards" at zone conference. We don't teach and help others get into the Terrestrial or Telestial kingdoms. We need to strive to be keeping the law of the celestial kingdom so we can show that we are ready for it. I know that if i strive to live a celestial life now and for the rest if my life there is a good chance I would be ready later. I love ya! Sister Kemp.
