There is power in His name
Hello! These last two weeks have been pretty good. A lot has happened and I am excited to tell ya about it. Also this week is transfers and Sister Kulikowski and I will be staying in West Memphis
So two Mondays ago we went to a referral named Adrian that we got from the elders awhile ago. We haven't had much contact with her so we went to ask if she was still interested. Well she said no, but we didn't just want to leave after that so we showed her the Light the World video. She loved it and said that she would get her family involved and the would do that. Then we invited her to the musical tribute she started writing down the information about it and asked us how our church services were. We told her and she was blown away that we take the sacrament every week. We invited her to come take the sacrament this Sunday. She started to open up more about her family and we extended some invitations with specific promise blessing and she said that they would start reading the Book of Mormon. She was excited for us to come back. Sadly she has been able to come to Church the last two weeks but we aren't giving up hope yet. We have an appointment with her tomorrow.
We have had some pretty awesome lessons with Robbin these past couple weeks. President Faulkner came to one and it was so spiritual.
we met Deshawn on Saturday, and we had made the goals of finding 5 new people to teach because that's how many we needed to find to hit our weekly goal. So we had a lesson in Earle and came back and from 3-6 pm we knocked doors. We did one street here. Another there. We found ourselves in a neighborhood neither of us have been. We only had 30 mins and 3 more people to find. We knocked some more doors and Deshawn was the last person we talked to. She had seen a lot of trials in her life recently and just wanted help. We taught her about the Book of Mormon and gave her one. She was really appreciative and said that she would read it.
We wrapped presents for Sister Chisms and helped clean one of our ministing sisters house. It was fun to serve other.
We had a mission Christmas social on Thursday a branch Christmas dinner on Saturday and a Missionary Musical Tribute on Sunday it has been a busy week. The Christmas Social ended in having a testimony meeting and it is was such a great way to end. The missionaries in this mission have such powerful testimonies. The Musical Tribute was awesome. It was great to sing and to share testimony through song about Christ and this time of the year.
So the new youth theme and album is out and there is a song that sister Kulikowski and I have been playing on repeat it is His name. Here our just some of the lyrics :
There is power in His name.
It reminds us why we’re here.
He’s the one who took our place
And who wipes away our tears.
There is power in the love
That He freely gives away,
And we can feel it in our hearts
When we do the things He taught.
There is power in His name.
When He speaks, the heavens open
And love comes pouring in
To ev’ry soul that’s humbly waiting
With repentance on their lips.
And we can call upon His power
If we are pure in heart.
And He will hold us and protect us in His arms.
There is power in His name.
It has such a powerful message in the song and it has really helped me out this week. We all can find power in His name and gain the strength that we are needing to lift ourselves and others. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he came to earth to atone for our sins to help us return to our Father in Heaven. I know that I can turn to Him in times of trouble as well as in times of gratitude. I love my Savior and all that he has done for me.
I love y'all. Sister Kemp.
