Knockin', talkin', and rakin'
Hello! This week has been very eventful. I have been really enjoying this time that I have to serve the Lord.
So on New Year's Eve we got the cops called on us!...We were out knocking doors on Monday night. When a cop car passed by. It turned around and stopped in front of the house we were about to knock at. We walked over to the cop who got out of the car. When the cop saw our tags he said "Oh it's you... Well I can't do anything with y'all". We had a very nice conversation with him. Nice policemen are very appreciative. But wait there is more. On Wednesday we were once again knocking doors when we got stopped by another police officer. Twice in one week!
We have found lots of cool people this week. Our sister training leaders asked us to find one person a day and we ended up doing that! It was awesome to see the miracles behind one of the people we have met.
I am really excited about Shamekia. We met her at her sisters house here in West Memphis and taught her the Restoration at her house in Anthonyville. Anthonyville has some funny street names most of them are named after a Anthony. There is a Alma street there. She was really interested and wants to know more.
On Saturday we spent most of the day raking our Branch Misson leaders yard. (There were a ton of leaves in such a small yard!) But we didn't have much time to find one new person. We picked a street earlier in the day and we didn't feel right about it. So we picked a street that was close to our apartment. Most of the house people didn't answer and the rest they were not interested. Then we were down to the last house. We met Cassandra and Wille. They were both interested in hearing more. We did a crash course on the Restoration because they didn't have a lot of time. And set up a return appointment for this Saturday.
Yesterday we saw a lady raking up her leaves. We asked if she needed any help and she said she would but she was done for the day. We offered to come over another day and help her and she accepted. Her name is Ruth Mae, we got to know her some and talked with her about the message we have to share and she was interested in learning more. We told her we could share more when we raked her leaves.
We met a guy named Christopher. When we met him he asked us about why people combine God and Jesus Christ so we taught him about the God head and shared the an example of were it shows that in the bible. He liked that a lot and we will see him again tomorrow.
I am so grateful that I have decided to serve a mission. I am so grateful for the experiences that I am getting. There are some bad days but the good days are always better. I know that I am where I am supposed to be.
Love ya. Sister Kemp.
