Temple Trip

Hello! This week was good! I hope ya'll had a great Fourth of July. I never thought I would think it would be fun as a missionary. The Book of Mormon is probably the most patriotic book that I have read. One of my favorite promises throughout the Book of Mormon is "And inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall prosper, and shall be led to a land of promise; yea, even a land which I have prepared for you; yea, a land which is choice above all other lands" (this one is found in 1 Nephi 2:20) Heavenly Father put this land aside for those who would keep His commandments. It was called a land of Liberty way back when Captain Moroni led the army of Nephites. It's just all really neat. It is how every one of the hardest days to be a missionary in my book. No one wants to talk. We met a lady named Kiana. She had sisters knock in her door a few months ago and when they left she had so many questions for them. She was so happy when she realized we were from the same church. She let us in and asked us many sincere questions. Her house was the first house we knocked on the street. We taught her the restoration. She told us how her and her husband and just gotten to know the Lord about three years ago. Her husband was lurking in the door ways acting like he wasn't interested but you could tell he was paying attention. Kiana soaked up everything we taught. She considers herself new and just wants to know everything about Jesus Christ. We will see her tomorrow. We have the opportunity to go to the Temple today! 🎉🎉🎉 I am so excited. I am in Alma 37 in my Book of Mormon reading. This is my fifth time reading it on my mission. It has been so neat to read the Book of Mormon so much and so often. This time reading through, I have been marking the enabling power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. It has been just small little examples here and there. It has helped me realize that the enabling power is more of a boost. Like in Mario Cart you get the red Mushroom and it gives you a extra boost to get farther ahead faster. But then you go back to the same speed as before until you get another red Mushroom to push you farther. It has helped me see examples of that in my day to day life. I love ya! Sister Kemp
