One Hot Week
Hello y'all! This week has been hot I have sweated through so many clothes but it is over all been good!
Russellville is great! We found 2 people this week! One is Jackie, she is a member referral we have been trying to meet her this whole time and finally we were able to see her Friday. She seemed really excited to meet with us, her grandson has been meeting with the Hermana's and is wanting to learn what he is so excited about.
We also met Ryan he is a media referral. He is wanting to learn more about religion in general. He seems really cool. He felt so bad yesterday when we went for our lesson and his wife was gone. He seemed really excited. So we will see him Friday with his wife.
In my studies I found two really cool things I wanted to share with you. 1. In Ether talking about the Brother of Jared. I thought the Book of Mormon never brought up his name. But I was reading Ether 2:13 it reads "they pitched their tents; and they called the name of the place Moriancumer" I remember that Mohrni Moriancumer and I read in the footnotes one was Alma 8 saying that it was a custom for the Nephites to name the city or land after the leader." And then Ether 1:34 talking about the Brother of Jared. It was cool for me to first realize that it was his name and the scriptures back it up.
2. I was reading a article about Parly P Pratt. It was called "The Extraordinary Life of Parley P. Pratt By Matthew J. Grow in April 2007 Ensign." In the article it says " As to hymns, I am writing several new ones every day, and am in hopes to contribute 100 new ones to the volume we now print.” While he did not reach his goal, the new hymnal contained nearly 50 of his hymns." And also talking about one of his mission " Here is a boundless harvest for the next 15 to 20 years, … and here, if the Lord will, I expect to spend 5 or 10 years at least." He wasn't able to spend that much time there though. But he taught me a lot about Goal setting. He set the goal and it seemed high but he worked towards it and even though he didn't reach it he seemed ok with what he did.
I am having the time of my life here, I have come to love Arkansas and the people more then I thought I would. I Love the Lord.
Love ya, Sister Kemp
