Apparently I need to know Spanish
Hello Y'all! This week has been great! Don't ask me what made it great, I just decided that it was so it was.
We found 2 new people this week when teaching Anthony. Anthony is a father of about 19 kids and 2 of his daughters sat in a lesson and participated. So that was pretty neat.
We had a lesson with Bill. We have been teaching him for awhile and this has been the first time I actually met him. We didn't find anyone to come to the lesson with us so the Hermanas came with us. It was a great lesson.
We had a lunch appointment with the most awesomest ladies. We will helping them set up fall decorations this Thursday so I'm pumped!
We met a 100 year old member. She asked us 4 times how long we have been out and by then end of it she was able to answer the question for us. We walked her back to her room (she lives in a nursing home) As we walked she introduced us to everyone we saw. She is proud to be a member and she will tell anyone about it.
After a dinner appointment with the Hermanas someone that was going to sit in their branch correlation couldn't make so they asked us to. It was in Spanish and the branch President asked us to help with their Book of Mormon Class. We said yes we love to help. So guess who is teaching Spanish Book of Mormon class this week!?! How am I supposed to teach a Spanish Book of Mormon class when I just speak English! The Hermanas taught us how to say "can you offer the prayer" in Spanish.
Got a flat tire Friday and had to walk everywhere. It was tiring. A bolt was stuck so I couldn't fix it then. But I got it fixed Saturday.
So last night our zone leaders asked us to try and find one new person. Sadly we didn't. The last door we knock on, the guy came out and asked us when we asked Jesus to save us. I said everyday because I thought of repentance when he asked. Well he didn't like our answer and went off on how we only need to be saved once because Jesus only died once. Then I had a question pop into my head. I asked him "Do you know why Jesus suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane?" He was stumped! He couldn't think of an answer He said "no do you?" I then said yes and started to explain the Atonement. He cut me off shortly after but I was all pumped because I saw the power of asking an inspired question, it was awesome!
I was reading a talk today called Approaching the Throne of God with Confidence and in it he said "Take responsibility for your own spiritual well-being. Stop blaming others or your circumstances, stop justifying, and stop making excuses for why you may not be fully striving to be obedient. Accept that you are “free according to the flesh” and “free to choose liberty and eternal life”" I realized I had started justifying and make excuses when I came to talking to people, "that person looked busy" , " he was mowing his lawn it was to load". So I decided I was going to stop making excuses and just do it. The easiest thing but for me probably the hardest. But I will do it! Because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ I can do all things. I know it! Love ya, Sister Kemp
Sorry I forgot to take pictures.
