Happy Valentine's Day

Hello! This week has been pretty good. Saturday was just a really awesome day we had spiritual lessons one after another. It started with Kelvin who in the last lesson we had said he was spiritually hungry and didn't feel like he was getting filled at his church. He was founded during a blitz before I got here but he said that he knew when he say the elders that whatever they were sharing would help him. We taught him the first lesson on Saturday and he knew that everything we where saying was true because he was talking about that earlier with his wife. We invited him to be baptized but he said he wanted to make sure it was the right church and the right things to do. After Kelvin we had a lesson with Ms. Cathy she asked for a priesthood blessing so we had asked someone in the branch to give her one. Afterwards she said that the peaceful feeling she had while reading the Book of Mormon was there. We testified that it was the spirit and told her she could feel the spirit all ...

First week in Monticello

Hello Again! Things have changed a lot. I am getting used to it here in Monticello. I still don't know where I am most of the time but I am starting to recognize places we have passed. I know I will be learning a lot this transfer. It's going to be good. Sister Garner is awesome. She is from Elberta, Utah. She has been on her Mission for almost a year. We have had a couple of walk days this week. And let me tell you I would rather have biked! We walked 7 miles one day and 5 miles another. Walking takes so much time! But on the bright side it was easier to stop and talk to people. I met some of the members this week and we had a lesson with Danny. He got baptized just in December and he bought a suit for church. He didn't know how to tie a tie and the sisters have previously tried. I said I could give it a shot and I was able to remember how to tie one! I am grateful I decided I wanted to learn how to tie a tie even if I didn't wear one. We have been running arou...

Hello! A couple weeks ago Sister Kulikowski and I were talking about how us missionaries are like plants in pots we are place in a pot (Area) until we grown has much as we can then we are placed into a new pot (transferred). So I am getting a new pot! I will be heading to Monticello, Arkansas tomorrow. I am excited to go there and grow some more. I am glad that I have been able to serve in West Memphis and sad to leave but I am excited for the adventures I will have in Monticello! Sister Kulikowski is awesome. She has taught me a lot. So much I can't even think of the words to describe it. She is such a hard worker and you can tell that she loves the Lord. I am grateful I was able to serve with her. I am excited to get to know Sister Garner. We met Auriel last Sunday and we went to our return appointment on Wednesday. It went so good. We where teaching and she was surprised about how she hadn't learn this and how simple it was. When we recited the First Vision and when ...

Hello! This week has been great! Not that anything great happen necessarily at the beginning of the week I decide that it was going to be great. And it was. We found some cool people this week. We met Justin a few weeks ago and we lost contact with him but on Monday I left my phone in the car so we walked back to get it and ran into Justin again. He is still wanting to learn more and seems more sincere this time around. We will see where it goes. We met a lady nic-named Queen C she seem a bit strange but seemed interested. We met here sitting on a porch. When we asked if she lived there she said no and just told us a street and what cars where sitting outside. We couldn't find the house that was an adventure. We saw Alfreda briefly on Saturday. She is doing good. She is really wanting to learn more. I hope we will be able to work more with her. We got snow this week end and it got COLD! But I just got to layer up. We had zone p-day today hence the short email. Not much e...

Knockin', talkin', and rakin'

Hello! This week has been very eventful. I have been really enjoying this time that I have to serve the Lord. So on New Year's Eve we got the cops called on us!...We were out knocking doors on Monday night. When a cop car passed by. It turned around and stopped in front of the house we were about to knock at. We walked over to the cop who got out of the car. When the cop saw our tags he said "Oh it's you... Well I can't do anything with y'all". We had a very nice conversation with him. Nice policemen are very appreciative. But wait there is more. On Wednesday we were once again knocking doors when we got stopped by another police officer. Twice in one week! We have found lots of cool people this week. Our sister training leaders asked us to find one person a day and we ended up doing that! It was awesome to see the miracles behind one of the people we have met. I am really excited about Shamekia. We met her at her sisters house here in West Memphis and t...

Happy New Year! 🎉

This week has been pretty good. I think I might start all of my emails like that but it was a good week. My Christmas was pretty awesome although by the end of the day I thought I might explode. We ate in a different members home all three meals. Way too much food. I got to talk to my family which was pretty neat. I am amazed at the technology that we have to be able to do that. We were asked to spend sometime studying and ponder about Jesus Christ on Christmas, it was a very neat to do that. This week we picked a street to go finding on. When we got to the street we found only 3 houses. So we knocked all three. We ended up talking with one person at all three house but only the last house were we able to teach them. We met Mattie and we talked about prayer and faith, we told her about how our message is centered on Christ and asked if we could teach her more she opened the door and told us to come in. We taught her the first lesson and gave her a Book of Mormon. We did our compa...

Merry Christmas Y'all!

Merry Christmas! This week has been full of running around and trying to find people to talk to. We stopped by and saw Janna, a member of the branch. She was happy to see us but she said she didn't have time to talk she had to go clean up the mess her dogs had made in the back yard. We ask if we could help and at first she said no but after a lot of begging she let us help her. So we got to know her some more as we helped her. We also got to help with Toys for tots over in Memphis. We sorted toys and passed some out. It was really fun and the people were so grateful. It was cool to be able to be apart of that for a couple hours. We started to teach Kasey. She is a members little sister. She is so sweet and is really wanting to know what she is needing to do to become closer to Jesus Christ. We were knocking some doors and a lady named China opened the door and let us right in. She had a bunch of girls from her church over and they were practicing a praise dance and a skit fo...
